How to download a Bilibili video
It might be a lecture you want on a train with no signal, a tutorial you'll follow one step at a time, or your own upload that deserves a backup. Either way, it takes three steps.
- Copy the video link. In the Bilibili app, tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, open the video and copy the address from your browser bar.
- Paste it into the box above and press Get video. We check the link and list every version Bilibili makes available for it.
- Choose MP4 or MP3, then download. Pick a resolution for the video, or MP3 if you only want the sound. The file saves to your device's usual downloads folder.
If the video has several parts (P1, P2 and so on), open the part you want before copying the link. The address will end in something like ?p=3, and that is the part you'll get.
What you can download from Bilibili here
Most people arrive with one of five kinds of link, and each behaves slightly differently.
| What you paste | What it looks like | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| A video page on bilibili.com | bilibili.com/video/BV1xxxxxxxxx | The video as MP4, or its audio as MP3 |
| One part of a multi-part video | bilibili.com/video/BV1xxxxxxxxx?p=3 | Only that part (see multi-part downloader) |
| A share link from the Bilibili app | b23.tv/xxxxxxx | We follow it to the full video page first |
| A video on bilibili.tv (Bstation) | bilibili.tv/en/video/xxxxxxxxxx | The video as MP4 (see Bstation downloader) |
| An older AV link | bilibili.com/video/av12345678 | The same as a BV link |
BV IDs replaced AV numbers as Bilibili's public video IDs in 2020, but old AV links still open the same videos, so either works. When a video has CC subtitles, the results also offer them as an SRT file via our subtitle downloader, and you can save the cover image at full size with our thumbnail downloader.
What it won't download, and why we say so first
A downloader that promises everything tends to deliver less. Here is where this one stops, so you don't waste time on links that can't work.
Premium-only qualities. Bilibili reserves its top tiers, including 1080P high bitrate, 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision and 8K, for Premium (大会员) members. Those versions aren't given to a public tool, so they won't appear in your list.
Paid and restricted content. Paid courses, members-only videos and anime licensed only for certain regions stay behind Bilibili's checks. We don't bypass logins, paywalls, region locks or DRM.
Private, deleted and under-review videos. If a video won't play in a private browser window while you're signed out, we can't fetch it either.
Live streams. This tool works with uploaded videos, not broadcasts that are still live.
And one rule worth keeping everywhere: we will never ask for your Bilibili password. Be wary of any website that does.
Which quality will you get?
The quality list comes from Bilibili, not from us. For each video, Bilibili decides which versions to hand out based on how the video was uploaded and who is asking. A public downloader sees roughly what a signed-out viewer sees.
| Quality on Bilibili | What it means | Who Bilibili usually serves it to |
|---|---|---|
| 360P and 480P | Standard definition | Everyone, including signed-out viewers |
| 720P | HD | Often requires a signed-in account |
| 1080P | Full HD | Usually requires a signed-in account |
| 1080P60 | Full HD at 60 frames per second | Usually Premium members |
| 1080P+ (high bitrate) | Full HD with more detail per frame | Premium members |
| 4K | Ultra HD | Premium members |
| HDR and Dolby Vision | Wider brightness and colour range | Premium members, on supported screens |
| 8K | Bilibili's highest resolution | Premium members, and only on some videos |
Bilibili adjusts these rules from time to time, so treat the table as a guide. The list you see after pasting a link is always the live answer.
A video can only be downloaded in qualities it was uploaded in. If a creator uploaded at 720P, no tool can give you a genuine 1080P file, and anything claiming to is simply upscaling.
In our own tests in September 2026, public bilibili.com videos typically returned up to 1080P, and bilibili.tv videos up to 1080P. We re-test every month and update this line whenever the results change.
On mobile data, 480P or 720P is usually the sensible choice. Each step up in resolution or frame rate makes the file noticeably larger.
Why some Bilibili downloads have no sound
Bilibili streams most videos as two separate files: one carries the picture and the other carries the sound. This is called DASH streaming, and the pieces usually arrive as .m4s files. A downloader that saves only the picture track hands you a silent video.
This tool fetches both tracks and joins them into a single MP4 before it reaches you, so the file you save plays with picture and sound together. If you only want the sound, the MP3 option skips the video track and gives you a much smaller file.
Still silent? Make sure you chose an MP4 option rather than an audio-only or video-only one, then try playing the file in VLC, which opens almost any format.
Download Bilibili videos on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac
iPhone and iPad. Use Safari. When you tap Download, iOS saves the file to the Files app, in the Downloads folder. To move it into Photos, open it in Files, tap Share, then Save Video. If a video plays sound over a black screen, your device may not support its codec (HEVC or AV1); choose an option marked H.264 if one is listed, or open the file in VLC. Full iPhone guide
Android. Chrome, Samsung Internet and Firefox all work. Files land in your Downloads folder and usually appear in your gallery app within a few seconds. Full Android guide
Windows and Mac. Any modern browser works. The MP4 saves to your Downloads folder and plays in the built-in player. If Windows complains about a missing codec, install VLC, which includes the common ones. PC and Mac guide
How to copy the right Bilibili link
On the Bilibili website, the address bar is all you need. A video link contains a BV ID: the letters BV followed by ten characters. Anything after a question mark, such as spm_id_from or vd_source, is tracking information you can leave in or delete. The one part worth keeping is ?p= followed by a number, because it tells us which part of a multi-part video you want.
In the Bilibili app, Share then Copy link gives you a short b23.tv address, often with the video's title in front of it. Paste the whole thing; the box picks out the link.
On bilibili.tv, use the share button under the player, or copy the address bar in your browser.
Collections and playlists need one link per video. Each part of a series has its own address, so paste them one at a time.
If a download doesn't work
| What you see | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| “Not a Bilibili link” | You copied a channel, search or collection page | Open the video itself and copy that address |
| “Video unavailable” | Private, deleted, members-only or region-locked | Check whether it plays in a private window while signed out |
| Only low resolutions listed | Bilibili limits signed-out quality for this video | Expected; see “Which quality will you get?” |
| Video plays with no sound | Picture track saved without audio, usually by another tool | Download it again here using an MP4 option |
| Sound but a black screen | HEVC or AV1 codec your player can't decode | Choose H.264 if listed, or play the file in VLC |
| iPhone saved it to Files, not Photos | Normal Safari behaviour | Files, then Downloads, then Share, then Save Video |
| Download stops partway | Connection dropped, or the phone paused the browser | Keep the screen on, switch to Wi-Fi, or try on a computer |
Still stuck? Report the link and tell us what happened. When Bilibili changes something on its side, reports like yours are often how we catch it first.
Web downloader, official app or desktop software?
This site is built for quick, one-off saves on any device. It isn't the best tool for every job, and the alternatives are worth knowing.
| Option | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Bilibili's own app (offline cache) | Watching later on your phone | The video stays inside the app; you don't get a file |
| This web downloader | Saving a public video as MP4 or MP3 on any device | One link at a time; no Premium qualities |
| Desktop and command-line tools such as yt-dlp or BBDown | Whole collections, batch jobs, advanced settings | Setup required; you manage updates and your own account |
If all you want is something to watch on a flight, the official app's cache is the simplest route, and it keeps you inside Bilibili, where the creator still gets credit for your view. If you need a file you can open anywhere, that is what this tool is for.
Privacy and safety
No account, no password. You don't sign up here, and we never ask for your Bilibili login.
What we keep. We process the link you paste in order to fetch the video. Downloaded files are deleted from our servers as soon as your download finishes. Basic server logs are kept for 7 days to prevent abuse. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
What you'll never be asked to do. Install an extension, download an APK or allow browser notifications to get your file. The real download button is always inside the result card. Anything outside that card is an advertisement and is labelled as one.
Independent service. BiliDownloader is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Bilibili or bilibili.tv. Their names and logos belong to their owners.
Use it responsibly
Creators on Bilibili, known as UP主 (uploaders), put real work into what they post. Download your own uploads, videos released under an open licence, or content you have the creator's permission to keep. Don't re-upload other people's videos, sell them or pass them off as your own, and credit the creator whenever you share a clip with permission.
Copyright rules differ from country to country, and Bilibili's own terms govern how its service is used. BiliDownloader doesn't host any videos; it processes the public link you provide. If you are a rights holder with a concern, contact us through our copyright page and we will respond.

Bilibili and Bstation host content for an international audience. If you prefer navigating in your native language, access our localized editions:
Frequently asked questions
Is this Bilibili downloader free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, subscription or trial. To keep the service fast for everyone, we may slow down unusually heavy use from a single connection, but normal use is never charged.
Do I need a Bilibili account?
No. You don't need an account here or on Bilibili. The trade-off is that you get the qualities Bilibili offers to signed-out viewers, which rules out the Premium tiers.
Can I download Bilibili videos in 1080P or 4K?
1080P appears whenever Bilibili makes it available for that video without a login. 4K, 1080P high bitrate, HDR and 8K are reserved for Bilibili Premium members, so they won't show up here. The quality menu always lists every version you can actually get.
Why does my downloaded Bilibili video have no sound?
Bilibili sends picture and sound as separate streams, and tools that save only the picture produce a silent file. This downloader merges both into one MP4, so any MP4 option you choose comes with sound.
Does it work with bilibili.tv (Bstation)?
Yes. Paste a bilibili.tv video link exactly as you would a bilibili.com one. bilibili.tv is Bilibili's international service for Southeast Asia, and availability varies by video because of regional licensing.
How do I download Bilibili videos on iPhone?
Open this page in Safari, paste the link and tap Download. iOS saves the file to the Files app, in Downloads. To add it to Photos, open the file, tap Share, then Save Video.
Can I save just the audio as MP3?
Yes. After you paste a link, choose the MP3 option. It suits lectures, talks and music uploads you have permission to keep, and the file is far smaller than the video.
Can I download subtitles or danmaku (bullet comments)?
If a video has CC subtitles, the results include them as an SRT file that most players can load. Danmaku, the scrolling comments Bilibili is known for, can't be downloaded here at the moment.
Can I download a whole collection or every part at once?
Not in one go. Each part of a multi-part video (P1, P2 and so on) has its own link, so paste them one at a time. For large batch jobs, a desktop tool is the better fit.
Will the downloaded video have a watermark?
We don't add one. Some creators add a watermark with their Bilibili name when they upload, and that mark is part of the picture itself, so it stays in every copy, including yours.
Is it legal to download Bilibili videos?
It depends on the video, what you do with it and where you live. Saving your own uploads or openly licensed videos is generally fine. Downloading or sharing someone else's work without permission can break copyright law and Bilibili's terms. When in doubt, ask the creator.
Where do my downloaded files go?
On a computer, to your Downloads folder. On Android, to Downloads, and usually your gallery too. On iPhone and iPad, to the Files app, in the Downloads folder.
Is BiliDownloader connected to Bilibili?
No. We're an independent tool with no link to Bilibili or bilibili.tv. We don't host videos; we fetch the public version of the link you paste and pass it straight to you.
